Day of Heart Walk

The Heart Walk is Saturday, October 20, 2012, rain or shine, in Rash Field, across from Federal Hill Park. Activities begin at 9:00 a.m., the Heart Walk begins at 10:00 a.m. Please wear your Heart Walk t-shirt!

The American Heart Walk is offering the following incentives for the day of the event. Walkers who individually raise:

• $100 will get a Heart Walk Shirt that they can pick up the morning of the Heart Walk at the “Making Change Tent”
• $500 will get a Heart Walk Shirt and an email telling them about their free hot breakfast and access to the SuperStar Tent – there will be a list to get in
• $1,000 will get a Heart Walk Shirt, Hot Breakfast/access to the SuperStar tent AND an email about their free VIP parking

Note: None of the aforementioned items are transferrable.

Additional information:

• For all walkers there will be a light breakfast (bagels, fruit and juice)
• Bottled water will be on site, but we are suggesting participants bring an extra to have
• Dogs are allowed (on a leash)
• Walkers can turn in donations the morning of the walk to the American Heart Association
• A layout of the tents and walk route will be available at www.greaterbaltimoreheartwalk.org
• For those individuals walking the short route (1 mile), please keep an eye out for turnaround signs at the ½ mile mark – there will be signs and volunteers advising you when to circle back

Parking Information

All Johns Hopkins East Baltimore campus garages are free on weekends for Johns Hopkins employees and students with a valid badge. The Washington Street garage is free on weekends to the general public.

Transportation Schedule

Free Shuttles will be running from the following locations. No pets are allowed on busses.

Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center

• Departure: 8am, 8:30am, 9am, 9:30am
• Return: 12pm, 12:30pm, 1pm, 1:30pm

Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center

• Departure: 8am, 8:45am
• Return: 12pm, 1pm

Johns Hopkins University (Charles Commons)

• Departure: 8am, 8:45am
• Return: 11:30am, 12:30pm

Port Covington/Walmart

• Runs continuously from 8:15am until approximately 12:15pm (or earlier if all the vehicles are gone).
• No pets allowed on the buses.
