Takimoto Lab Funding

Current Research Support:

Title: Regulation and function of cGMP dependent protein kinase in cardiac hypertrophy
PI: Eiki Takimoto
Agency: National Institutes of Health, NHLBI
Type: RO1 (HL093432) Period: April 1, 2009 - May 31, 2014
Aims of Grant: The studies in this proposal elucidate the disease stage-dependent mechanisms by which cGMP-PKG pathway exerts anti-hypertrophic effects.

Title: Regulation and function of cGMP dependent protein kinase in cardiac hypertrophy
PI:: Eiki Takimoto
Agency: National Institutes of Health, NHLBI
Type: RO1 Supplement (HL093432 – S109) Period: July 15, 2009 – Jun 30, 2011
Aims of Grant: This grant is supplementary to HL093432 from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Funds.

Title: The role of PDE5A in Gq-coupled signaling induced cardiac hypertrophy
PI: Eiki Takimoto
Agency: American Heart Association
Type: Scientist Development Grant (0630026N Period: 01/01/06 – 12/31/09
Aims of Grant: The studies in this proposal test the hypothesis that Gaq signaling induces PDE5A up-regulation, contributing hypertrophy development, and that cGMP/PKG exerts its anti-hypertrophy by activating RGS2 protein, which associates with and turns off Gaq activation.
