Fetal Diagnostic Procedures
Fetal diagnostic procedures are performed to monitor the health of an expectant mother and her growing fetus.
At Johns Hopkins, our Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists, or high-risk obstetricians, use state of the art equipment to monitor your baby’s growth and development.
Accredited continuously since 1996 by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM), our sonographers are:
- Registered in OB/GYN by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- Certified by Fetal Medicine Foundation
- Credentialed by Nuchal Translucency Quality Review Program
Following these standards means both you and your baby are in expert hands.
We offer the following fetal diagnostic procedures:
- Fetal blood sampling
- Fetal echocardiography
- First trimester nuchal translucency screening
- Obstetric ultrasound
Maternal Fetal Medicine Services are also offered at Howard County General Hospital.
