Colposcopy Clinic

Colposcope

Overview

The Johns Hopkins Colposcopy Clinic provides women with an abnormal Pap smear the opportunity to have a specialized procedure performed to examine the cervix, vagina or vulva.

The Johns Hopkins Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics now has the DySIS Colposcope for colposcopy which allows us to pinpoint lesions of the lower genital tract. The state-of-the-art device allows:

  • An easier and more precise method using computer technology to identify lesions on the cervix that require biopsy
  • Patients the ability to view their images in real time with the provider
