GIM is happy to announce the promotion of J. Hunter Young, MD, MHS, to the rank of associate professor. Dr. Young, a former Osler ACS, is a core faculty member in the Welch Center for Prevention, Epidemiology and Clinical Research; he holds a joint appointment in the Department of Epidemiology; and he is a member of the Active Staff of Johns Hopkins Hospital as a Longcope Firm faculty member. His research program in hypertension combines genetic, molecular, and clinical epidemiology to understand and remedy racial disparities in risk. He has also held leadership roles in Johns Hopkins HealthCare, and as Community Medical Director in both the JCHiP and JCASE (or Strong Start) programs funded by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Congratulations to Dr. Young on this well-deserved promotion reflective of his important contributions to the understanding hypertension and to his community work!
