Effective January 1, 2013, Dr. Fred Brancati has resigned his directorship of the GIM Division after serving in that role for eight years. He subsequently assumed the role of Associate Director and will remain involved in such “back office” administrative matters as correspondence and continuing development of the GIM website.
Dr. Jeanne Clark, formerly GIM's Associate Director, has been appointed as the Interim Director pending the selection of a new Director. As Dr. Brancati notes, Dr. Clark is “intimately acquainted with the Division’s business and is poised to make a seamless transition.” Dr. Clark is already known for her leadership of the GIM Fellowship Program from 2006 to 2011, and the Department of Medicine’s Women’s Task Force which she chaired from 2008-2012. She is the inaugural recipient of the Frederick Brancati, MD Professorship in Medicine.
As GIM ends one era and begins another, we wish both Dr. Clark and Dr. Brancati well in their new roles.
