GIM has given birth to still another research center! This time it is the Hypertension Center of Excellence located at the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Clinic. The GIM-based Center is directed by Gregory Prokopowicz, MD, MPH--a veteran GIM faculty member in the Tumulty Group practice who has been taking "informal" consults regarding hard-to-control hypertension for years.        

Dr. Prokopowicz has recruited an all-star Department of Medicine team to the Center, including Co-Directors Drs. Oscar Cingolani (Cardiology) and John Sperati (Nephrology) as well as GIM research experts Larry Appel MD, MPH and Pete Miller, MD, PhD.
