GIM faculty member Professor Gail Daumit, MD, MHS, has been tapped to chair the Mental Health Services Research Committee at the National Institute of Mental Health. The name of the committee may be unfamiliar, since it has newly been created by merging two other services research committees. It is the responsibility of the committee to assign the scientific scores that the NIH then uses to award tens of millions of grant dollars each year. Through this activity the committee exerts a major influence on the field of mental health services research.
GIM salutes Dr. Daumit on undertaking this significant responsibility. We are proud to know that the committee is in such good hands!
