GIM congratulates faculty member Geetanjali Chander, MD, MPH, on her promotion to the rank of Associate Professor of Medicine. Dr. Chander was recognized as a Clinician-Investigator for scholarly achievement in the field of HIV and substance abuse (alcohol, illicit drugs and tobacco), including an R01 from the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) , and for her contributions to the education of future Generalist Scholars through her leadership roles in the General Internal Medicine Fellowship, first as Co-Director, now as Director of the GIM Fellowship Program. She came to Johns Hopkins as a GIM Fellow herself in 2001, and subsequently joined the faculty in 2004.
