Mark your calendar to attend our 55th Annual PHILIP A. TUMULTY TOPICS IN CLINICAL MEDICINE COURSE. This five-day course (May 3-7, 2010) will present advances in Internal Medicine in areas of general clinical interest as they relate to the diagnosis and management of disease. The current course directors are Drs. John A. Flynn, D. William Schlott, Daniel J. Brotman, Gail V. Berkenblit, and Myron L. Weisfeldt, Director of the Department of Medicine.
Topics in Clinical Medicine began 55 years ago with the late Dr. Philip Tumulty's belief that faculty should communicate not only its expertise in Internal Medicine, but also its collegiality and warmth. In 2010, Topics once again extends the hospitality of Johns Hopkins faculty to provide the best summaries of the advances in Internal Medicine without pharmaceutical support.
In addition to lectures addressing specific disease problems, there will be opportunities to meet Hopkins faculty in small interactive groups to discuss areas of clinical medicine. As in previous years, we have continued our popular "Meet-The-Professor" and "Lunch-With-The-Professor" sessions. Our program will also include Medical Grand Rounds and Osler's Greatest Hits. The course’s social event will take place at the National Aquarium in Baltimore.
Returning again for 2010, we will be featuring a Hospitalist Day which will take place on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 and will feature topics that are geared to in-patient clinical problems.
