Former GIM Fellow and new GIM assistant professor Madhav Goyal, MD, MPH has won the third Annual SGIM Founders Award for his research on “Intensive Meditation among Patients with Migraine: A Randomized Controlled Trial.” The SGIM Founders Award is granted “to provide support to junior investigators who exhibit significant potential for a successful research career.”
The Award letter states that the selection committee “was impressed with the potential for change demonstrated through [Dr. Goyal’s] proposed research and feels confident [he has] a high chance of completing the study.” They expect that Dr. Goyal’s research “will influence the quality of patient care for the better.”
