Dr. Leonard Feldman Invited to Fellowship in ACP

Dr. FeldmanGIM Faculty member Lenny Feldman, MD, will soon have a new string of letters to append to his name--FACP. Dr. Feldman has been invited to become a Fellow of the American College of Physicians by direct election. All Fellows are internists and subspecialists who have been recognized by the ACP for personal integrity, superior competence, professional accomplishment, and demonstrated scholarship.

Direct election, however, is something very special. The ACP points out that “direct election to Fellowship without prior ACP Membership is a singular honor, conferred upon only a few outstanding physicians each year. Qualifications nearly always include status as an academician or researcher with a national reputation, extensive publications, and an outstanding career.” Among the requirements for direct election is sponsorship by two current ACP Masters or Fellows. Dr. Feldman’s election will be held in January 2010.

Congratulations to Dr. Feldman on this singular honor!
