Dr. Rehan Qayyum's Study Attracts Press Attention

A journal article on medications used for treating type 2 diabetes by GIM’s Rehan Qayyum, MD, is receiving wide notice in the national press. Dr. Qayyum is the lead author of the review article appearing in the October 21st issue of Annals of Internal Medicine and available online now. The study finds that premixed insulin analogues may be as safe and effective a treatment as long-acting insulin or noninsulin medications. Other GIM co-authors of this study were Drs. Nisa Maruthur, Leonard Feldman, Spyridon Marinopoulos, Padmini Ranasinghe, Muhammad Amer and Eric Bass.
