Brancati ADA Post-Doc Fellowship Mentorship Award to Support Dr. Hernaez

Congratulations to Dr. Ruben Hernaez, the first recipient of an American Diabetes Association (ADA) Post-doctoral Fellowship Mentorship Award granted to Hopkins GIM chief, Dr. Fred Brancati. These highly competitive awards are granted to established investigators to support a postdoctoral fellow being trained in the area of diabetes research.

Dr. Hernaez is a Spanish endocrinologist interested in clinical and genetic determinants of type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease through the identification of intermediate phenotypes: insulin resistance, inflammation parameters and non alcoholic fatty liver disease.
