The Society of General Internal Medicine and the Association of Chiefs of General Internal Medicine (SGIM-ACGIM) are accepting applications for the newly established 2007 SGIM/ACGIM/Association of Specialty Professors (ASP) T. Franklin Williams Scholars Award in Geriatrics. This is the first year that the award is being offered as part of ASP’s T. Franklin Williams Scholars Program. The SGIM/ACGIM/ASP award funds the early stages of academic career development for junior physician-scientists in divisions of general internal medicine. The deadline for applications is March 15, 2007.
The award provides award recipients $37,500 per year or $75,000 over the course of two years to support research in the geriatric aspect of general internal medicine. In addition, recipients receive travel grants to attend two meetings of the American Geriatrics Society and one SGIM/ACGIM meeting.
