GIM Fellows offer Appreciation Awards

Hopkins GIM Fellows honored Drs. Lenny Feldman and Fred Brancati by presenting them with GIM Fellows Appreciation Awards at the annual Fellows' Farewell luncheon, on June 5, 2006. The Fellows established a clinician educator award, named for L. Randol Barker--Director of the Bayview Medical Center's Medical Housestaff Practice--and a clinician investigator award, named for Dr. David Levine--beloved mentor to most of GIM's senior faculty--to recognize faculty for "their commitment to and personal investment in advancing the skills of the Fellows."

The Fellows praised Dr. Feldman for improving efficiency in the Consult Service, developing an e-curriculum and bringing interns onto the service. They also recognized his ability as teacher and leader and praised his approachability and sense of humor. The Fellows recognized Dr. Brancati for career mentorship, individual advice, and enthusiastic participation in their weekly seminars. Hopkins GIM congratulates the graduating Fellows on their accomplishments!
