Electronic Grant Submission Training: December 5, 2006
To ensure that faculty and staff have the required training to process electronic grant applications, the School of Medicine and NIH are offering additional COEUS training via a videocast scheduled for Tuesday, December 5, 2006. Please click here for additional details.
NOTE: School of Medicine (SOM) to begin using COEUS on January 3, 2007
Departments who have completed COEUS training as well as a refresher class will have the option, beginning January 3, 2007, of using COEUS to submit grants directly to Grants.gov instead of using the PureEdge application software. Those departments who are not interested in using COEUS at this time, or departments who have not received COEUS training should continue to use the PureEdge software.
COEUS refresher classes will be offered on November 28th, 2006 and December 18th, 2006 from 9-11am in Tilghman Auditorium. School of Medicine Departments interested in using COEUS for Grants.gov submissions should contact Rhonda Reese ( rreese@jhmi.edu) for scheduling training.
COEUS, developed by MIT and named after the Greek Titan for knowledge, Coeus
(Koe-ee-us) is one of the first cradle-to-grave award management tools in the nation that will enable transmission of grants electronically, a so-called a "system-to-system" submission. The current version of the software stands alone, but effective January 1, 2007 it will be integrated with the SAP business software being implemented by HopkinsOne.
Effective February 5, 2007, all R series NIH grants--the largest
program---must be submitted via Grants.gov.
ELECTRONIC SUBMISSION DEADLINE - To be considered timely filed with the Office of Research Administration (ORA), a proposal must include both (1) a paper copy of the final version of the application, including a signed eInformation Sheet and (2) the completed uploaded electronic proposal must be provided to ORA not less than five working days prior to the sponsor due date.
