Dr. Mark Hughes Appointed Blaustein Scholar
The Division congratulates Dr. Mark Hughes on his appointment by the Phoebe R. Berman Bioethics Institute as a Blaustein Scholar in the ethics of clinical practice, effective October 1, 2005.
Dr. Hughes is a general internist who completed a Masters in Philosophy at Georgetown and currently directs the Course on Research Ethics (CORE), a mandatory course for faculty and fellows conducting human subjects research in the School of Medicine. He also serves on the Johns Hopkins Hospital Ethics Service. Dr. Hughes joins two other scholars in the ethics of clinical practice: Dr. Joe Carrese (Blaustein Scholar and Director of the Program on Ethics in Clinical Practice) and Dr. Maggie Moon (Freeman Scholar).
