Diane Becker Receives 2008 JHU Distinguished Alumnus Award

President Brody has bestowed the Johns Hopkins University Distinguished Alumnus Award for 2008 on GIM’s Dr. Diane Becker. Dr. Becker earned her BS in from the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and her MPH from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health before earning her ScD degree from the JHSPH in 1984. Dr. Becker has been on the GIM faculty since 1984. She is the Director of The Johns Hopkins Sibling and Family Heart Study and the Director of The Center for Health Promotion.

The Distinguished Alumnus Award honors alumni who have typified the Johns Hopkins tradition of excellence and brought credit to the University by their personal accomplishment, professional achievement, or humanitarian service. As a recipient of this award Dr. Becker joins such varied and accomplished alumni as Peter Agre, John Barth, Helen Taussig and Wolf Blitzer.
