Berkenblit Sees HIV Resource Go Live

Visitors to the Clinical Practice area of the SGIM website will see a new section of resources on HIV Counseling and Testing aimed at primary care physicians. GIM’s Gail Berkenblit, MD, PhD participated in the building of the web pages devoted to assist practitioners in carrying out the CDC’s recommendation to perform routine HIV screening in the primary care setting.

The HIV Counseling and Testing section of the SGIM website provides links to online sources to help physicians implement each of the key points of the 2006 revision of the CDC recommendation. Resources include teaching tools for physician and patient, fact sheets on particular populations, brochures and posters, clinic checklists, risk-assessment tools, instruction on post-test counseling, referral resources, and many more aids for the general practitioner.
