Dr. Raquel Charles Honored

GIM Fellow Dr. Raquel Charles Honored

A study by Dr. Raquel Charles was judged the “Best Trainee Research Project” at the Society of General Internal Medicine Mid-Atlantic Regional Meeting in Philadelphia, PA, on March 7, 2008. Dr. Charles’ study is entitled “Differences in GFR and Creatinine-based Referral Patterns by U.S. Primary Care Physicians.”

Dr. Charles holds a GIM Fellowship and is also a trainee in the Welch Center for Prevention, Epidemiology and Clinical Research. She received her MD degree from the JHU School of Medicine, and served a residency in the Osler Housestaff Training Program at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Charles’ research interests include chronic kidney disease and health disparities.
