GAO Report on Primary Care Workforce
The Government Accountability Office (GAO) issued a new report last week, "Primary Care Professionals: Recent SupplyTrends, Projections, and Valuation of Services." It was released at a hearing on February 12, 2008, of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions. Edward Salsberg, M.P.A., Director, AAMC Center for Workforce Studies, also testified at the hearing. An article in the AAMC Washington Highlights newsletter summarized the hearing and testimony.
