GIM Fellow Finalist for Stamler Award
Current GIM Fellow Nisa M. Maruther, MD, has been selected as one of the finalists for the Jeremiah and Rose Stamler Research Award for New Investigators, to be presented during the American Heart Association’s 48th Cardiovascular Disease Epidemiology and Prevention Annual Conference, March 13-15 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Dr. Maruther was selected as a finalist for her abstract, "Lifestyle Interventions Reduce Estimated Framingham Risk: Results from the PREMIER Trial."
Finalists will present their abstracts at the conference in Colorado Springs, and Dr. Stamler will be present to ask questions following each presentation. The winner will be chosen on the basis of his or her contribution to the work as well as the scientific merit, quality, and originality of the manuscript. The winner of the award will be announced during the Council on Epidemiology and Prevention dinner on Thursday, March 13, 2008.
