Geriatric Medicine & Gerontology

Edmund Beacham, M.D.

Academic Appointment(s):

  • Assistant Professor Emeritus

Dr. Beacham began his service at the Baltimore City Hospitals in 1946 after five years of service in World War II.  Over a career spanning more than 40 years, Dr. Beacham witnessed the many transitions that slowly transformed a debt-burdened municipal hospital into a 700-bed teaching facility that is world reknown for its burn treatment unit and a nationally recognized regional center for kidney dialysis.  At one time, Dr. Beacham was Chief of the Tuberculosis and Chronic Care Divisions, a forerunner of the current Division of Geriatric Medicine.
