Clinical and Research Fellowship

This program is a three-year experience designed for physicians interested in research-focused careers within an academic environment.  Clinical training is tailored to meet the needs of each trainee and may be done in year one or two of the program.  The program includes appropriate didactic instruction as well as intensively mentored research.  Competitive opportunities are available for participation in Johns Hopkins degree programs, e.g., MHS, PhD, for those interested in more rigorous and extended training.  Extensive exposure to clinical and epidemiologic research within the Johns Hopkins Center on Aging and Health or within basic science laboratories encompassed within the Biology of Aging Program sponsored by the Division of Geriatric Medicine and the Center on Aging and Health are available. Clinical and Research Fellows supported by the Division’s NIH T-32 Fellowship Training Grant are eligible for an NIH Loan Repayment Program (LRP).  Based upon a participant’s outstanding eligible educational debt, the LRP can repay up to a maximum of $35,000 per year towards educational loans.  To understand how the LRP works, please visit the NIH website:  http://www.lrp.nih.gov/.

More information about health services research can be found on the Center on Aging and Health website.
