Research summary: I received an A.B. in Chemistry from Oberlin College in 1980 and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 1987. After post-doctoral work at the National Institutes of Health, I was recruited to Johns Hopkins University in 1992 where I am currently a Professor in the Division of Geriatric of Medicine and Gerontology. My research interests include age-related dysregulation of tissue remodeling, cellular differentiation and apoptosis; with an emphasis on tumor progression.
