Our 10th Anniversary for the combined pediatric/genetics program. Since July 2001, the Department of Pediatrics and the Institute for Genetic Medicine have offered a five-year program of combined training in pediatrics and medical genetics leading to certification by both the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Medical Genetics. Residents are encouraged to complete a sixth year of laboratory research. The first year of the program is the same as the intern year for pediatric residents. The next three years each include six months of training in pediatrics and six months in genetics. The final year of training focuses entirely in genetics. Applicants interested in this combined training pathway must submit their application through ERAS . if you are offered an interview you will interview with select faculty and staff from Pediatrics and Genetics. These interviews will likely be done on separate days; however, we will attempt to organize them sequentially. Additional information about the Board requirements for this combined training program is available at The American Board of Pediatrics website. To learn more about the training experience. |
