The DNA Diagnostic Lab at Johns Hopkins, established in 1979, provides prenatal, carrier and presymptomatic diagnostic testing for families and individuals with an increased risk of having inherited certain single gene disorders. The DNA Diagnostic Lab specializes in complex genetic testing, providing diagnostic testing of the type and quality not available elsewhere. The DNA Diagnostic Lab now provides Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) for Cystic Fibrosis. This service is provided in conjunction with the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and the Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) laboratory at Johns Hopkins.
