Main Interests:

Some couples are at increased risk to have an offspring with a genetic condition or birth defect. I provide genetic counseling to these individuals through the Prenatal Diagnostic Center. Indications for referral to the Center include a maternal age of 35 or older, abnormal serum screening results, a family history concern or previous ultrasound findings. Prenatal testing options such as amniocentesis, ultrasound, chorionic villus sampling and carrier testing are discussed with patients and coordinated through the Center. We also provide support and specialty referral for couples when a fetal abnormality is detected. Our multidisciplinary service includes perinatologists, genetic counselors, sonographers, and cytogeneticists.
