William S. Smilow Center Mission Statement

The William S. Smilow Center for Marfan syndrome research is a multidisciplinary group of biomedical investigators at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. The Center was established and is maintained through the generosity of the Smilow family. The Center is dedicated to the improvement of medical care and the quality of life of individuals with Marfan syndrome and related disorders through biomedical research and coordinated clinical care.

The Smilow Center for Marfan syndrome research was established in 1993 through the generosity and vision of Joel and William Smilow and their families. They have been steadfast advocates for marfan syndrome research by providing both funding and guidance to the William S. Smilow Center and the National Marfan Foundation.
