Associate Professor of Medicine and Ophthalmology
Dr. Chakravarti is an Associate Professor of Medicine (Gastroenterology Division) with secondary appointments in Ophthalmology and Cell Biology. Dr. Chakravarti obtained a Bachelor of Science (major Botany and minor Chemistry) from Lady Brabourne College, Calcutta University, India. She obtained a Masters and then a Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from University of Pittsburgh, PA, and joined the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions in 2000. Dr. Chakravarti directs her research laboratory and trains postdoctoral research and clinical fellows. She is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Biological Chemistry and reviews articles for sevral peer-reviewed journals.
