Traveling for Care?
Whether you're crossing the country or the globe, we make it easy to access world-class care at Johns Hopkins.
The mission of the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology is to advance the understanding, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of gastrointestinal and liver disease through patient care, education and research.
From preventative services and routine medical care to specialized procedures such as liver transplant and cancer treatment, the division offers compassionate care combined with stellar experience and knowledge to every patient.
The research program conducts original investigations in scientific fields related to the physiology or pathophysiology of the digestive system, including the gastrointestinal tract, liver and pancreas, and then applies the knowledge gained from research to improve the care of patients with diseases of the digestive system. An important component of the research program is the clinical trials, which not only help the patients enrolled in them but also provide important knowledge that will be used to improve treatment and care in the future.
Highly ranked for clinical work and research quality, the division educates and trains future leaders in research, education and clinical care. Whether you are a nurse, a researcher or a clinician, the training you receive here will be from nationally and internationally known and respected members of our faculty.
