Preventing Harassment & Discrimination - Issues, Consequences, and Reporting Procedures

The School of Medicine, in cooperation with the university's Office of Institutional Equity, is providing Harassment Prevention Training for all faculty and staff.
The 2005 Committee on Faculty Development and Gender report revealed that 20 percent of the School of Medicine female faculty reported having experienced sexual harassment at Hopkins.
In response, Dean Edward Miller has set the expectation that all faculty will be brought up to date on the issues of sexual and other harassment, the consequences of engaging in this unwelcome and unlawful conduct, and reporting procedures.
It wasexpected that each department director to have scheduled a 60 minute departmental training program on Preventing Harassment & Discrimination for their faculty and staff. All departmental trainings should have completed no later than June 30, 2011.

You may print out the Harassment and Discrimination Prevention Training Certificate and complete it to attest that you have taken one or more forms of training.
Sexual Harassment Training:Online Training
To complete the Online training go to: http://web.jhu.edu/administration/jhuoie/resources/online-training.html. It is the responsibility of all faculty members to ensure that they complete at least one form of sexual harassment training.
You may print out the Sexual Harassment Training Certificate and complete it to attest that you have taken one or more forms of sexual harassment training since 2006.

The financial interests of the university and of its institutional officials must not compromise the integrity of research or unduly influence decisions at Johns Hopkins. A university committee of faculty and administrators has drafted a policy on institutional conflicts of interest. Initially, we intend to apply the policy to human subjects research and certain other contracts that pose unique potential for institutional conflicts. Officers, trustees, directors, employees and agents of Johns Hopkins are prohibited from receiving anything of more than nominal value from a lending institution in connection with university business.
