Our Mission

The mission of our research program is to help characterize the genetic (biochemical) , developmental, and environmental components of bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Our hope is that once scientists understand the biological causes of these disorders, new medications and treatments can be developed.   Determining the biological contributions to schizophrenia and/or bipolar disorder risk will be a next step towards improving the lives of those living with  these disorders
