Governance

Epic Governance structure is designed to ensure representation from key clinical communities and disciplines, institutional and operational knowledge experts, project management owners and leadership structures. Our principles in the governance of this project allow for local input and decision-making, with guidance and support as needed.

Key Epic councils and organizational structures include:

  • Executive Steering Committee provides a venue for critical discussion and decision-making
  • Physician Champion Council provides a forum for physician-led processes and participation within the Epic implementation
  • Nursing and Allied Health Council ensures input and leadership from the nursing community into the process, policy and content decisions around Epic implementation
  • Training Council
  • Coordinating Council brings together parts of other councils in a cross-disciplinary structure for information sharing, decision support and alignment.
