Welcome to your Endocrine Fellowship. Over the next three years, you will partake in an exciting learning experience gaining skills in endocrinology and metabolism. The faculty is here to help you every step of the way. The curriculum web site will assist you as well. This site outlines the goals and objectives for each of your rotations accompanied by reading lists for each topic. It outlines your responsibilities for each rotation, and is also used to document that you are covering all aspects of the curriculum required for board eligibility. The curriculum web site also includes a procedure log to document each FNA you perform.
Becoming an outstanding endocrinologist is more than mastering medical knowledge. It is important to hone your skills in communication with patients, families and other care givers. It is essential to learn the key components of professionalism as well as learn how to expedite your patients through an increasingly difficult medical beaucracy. It is also important to be able assess your own practice skills and develop ways to continually improve your delivery of health care. To aid in these critical objectives, you will be continually evaluated in the six core competencies outlined by the ACGME. The curriculum provides ample opportunity to master the competencies.
Best wishes,
The Endocrine Faculty
