Division of Urgent Care and Community Medicine

Division of Urgent Care PhotoThe Urgent Care program has been established to accommodate the substantial number of patients presenting in the Emergency Department with non-emergent complaints. It provides the safest environment for patients with low-acuity health care needs and permits the delivery of care in an efficient and cost-effective manner. The program allows the staff in the main ED to concentrate on more acute cases, ultimately improving the efficiency of the entire department.

Urgent Care centers are fully operational at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, and Howard County General Hospital.
