The Office of Women in Science and Medicine works closely with a group of committees to accomplish its mission and goals. Women faculty will be asked to serve on appropriate committees because of their leadership roles at Hopkins, their skill set and their interest in particular OWISM activities. There are currently two Advisory Committees; Advisory Committee 1 and Advisory Committee 2. Both of these committees are composed of women faculty who represent the diverse nature of the faculty and the distinctly different departments at the School of Medicine. They also:
- Provide guidance to the OWISM on specific concerns of the women faculty, and development all OWISM events and programs
- Help to establish guidelines for the selection of the Vice Dean’s Award for the Advancement of Women Faculty recipient, as well as determine the selection criteria of the participants of the Leadership Program for Women Faculty
The Data Committee was established to critically evaluate data concerning promotion, advancement and leadership opportunities for women faculty at the SOM. They work to create an annual report which is made available to all faculties at the SOM, using comparative analysis to convey progress for women faculty. View a list of committee members
CV Review Committee
The OWISM has started a CV review program for senior women Associate Professors who anticipate promotion to Full Professor within 24 months. These faculty members can submit their CVs to the OWISM for feedback. View a list of committee members
