East Baltimore Community Affairs

Deidra N. Bishop was appointed Director of Community Affairs for East Baltimore for the Johns Hopkins Institutions in 2004. Immediately prior to joining Johns Hopkins, Deidra served as Executive Assistant for Transportation Legislative Affairs for the City of Baltimore’s Department of Transportation. Prior to returning to Baltimore City government in 2002, Deidra served as Chief of Staff to U.S. Representative Elijah E. Cummings.

Pamela Bechtel has been with the Office of Community Services since 2010. Prior to being appointed Assistant Director, Pamela served as a Program Development Coordinator, increasing the number and variety of the department's community outreach initiatives. Before joining Johns Hopkins, Pamela worked as a corporate Marketing and Sponsorship Manager. 

Carolyn Chance, a Program Development Coordinator for the Office of Community Services, has been with the department since 2004.  Before coming to Johns Hopkins, Carolyn held positions in government and corporate administrations.

Zakia Hospedales is a Budget Analyst with the Office of Community Services. Before coming to Johns Hopkins  in 2007, Zakia was a Patient Referral Coordinator for Community Healthcare Network in New York City.
