Stephanie Turner, 22, a longtime cystic fibrosis patient, was hospitalized
just a day before her scheduled wedding. After six weeks in the medical
intensive care unit fighting infections, renal failure and delirium,
Turner learned that the MICU team was planning a hospital wedding.
Nurses decorated the bed; a family minister performed the ceremony
before 30 people. “It was remarkable. I’ll never forget
it,” says Turner, who lives in Westminster with her husband,
Stephen.
