Recognition Week
Every fall, leaders of The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Health System honor
employees with a special, weeklong celebration. This year, Employee Recognition
Week takes place Sept. 18–22. Among the highlights is the Service
Awards Celebration, where these employees will be recognized for outstanding
job performance:
2006 Edward A. Halle Prize
for Service Excellence in Patient Service: Grace Hollins, Physical Medicine
& Rehabilitation
Nominated for her willingness to go out of her way to make her patients’
visits a positive experience, Grace Hollins, an associate physical therapist,
was described as a self-starter with exceptional clinical judgment and
a genuine concern for her colleagues. “Grace has displayed exceptional
motivation, dedication and professionalism in attending to the needs
of my wife,” one man wrote in to say. “Hopkins,” another
declared, “has surely employed an angel.”
2006 HR Presidential Leadership
Award: Robin Wantz, Neurosciences
Cited for her ability to adapt to change, successfully lead staff,
and build positive team relationships, Robin Wantz, nurse manager on
Meyer 9, was described as one who views problems as opportunities. She
