The cupola atop the dome has
been completely restored. The copper roof and flashings
were repaired and partially replaced. The rails were
shipped to Alabama and restored. The eight finials
on the rails, long since removed after coming loose,
were reinstalled; two were completely re-made. The
restoration was finished in March. Work on Billings’
slate roof, which is being completely replaced, continues.
The scaffolding will be down by mid-August, and the
Broadway entrance will reopen.
