The stars were out when John
Bartlett, chief of Infectious Diseases, received a
prestigious award for scientific achievement from
the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases at
a dinner on March 31 at the Ritz Carlton in Pentagon
City, Va. That evening, Bill Clinton also received
the foundation’s award for “humanitarian
contributions to the health of humankind” from
former presidents Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter, along
with Betty Ford and Rosalyn Carter. Here, Bartlett
and his wife, Jean, on his left, chat with the former
president.
