Pin-backed buttons have been
presidential campaign fixtures for more than a century.
Bush-Cheney and Kerry-Edwards now have added their
names to the roster of presidential and vice presidential
hopefuls who used these diverse, colorful trinkets
to ballyhoo their cause. Collectors prize such remnants
of politicians’ dreams—especially those
from losing campaigns, which frequently fetch higher
prices as more were tossed out in the post-election
day trash. Fame, of course, is fleeting. How many
of these folks can you remember or identify?
