Julio Montoya, of Lima, Peru, a former patient at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, will take part in a marathon walk along with others from Ecuador, Peru and Chile. The 3,000-kilometer walk commences on April 7, the International Day of Health, in Mchala in Ecuador and ends in the city of Iquique in Chile. Montoya said in a letter to Hopkins: "I want to demonstrate to the world that young people with various handicaps who, for one reason or another, have been deprived of one or more parts of our bodies, are not marginalized and can function as any normal person can."
