Biography
Kevin L. Billups, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Urology and Medicine as well as the Director of the Integrative Mens Health Program at the Johns Hopkins Brady Urological Institute. Dr. Billups obtained his medical degree here at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and his undergraduate education from Harvard University. He also completed his residency in Urology here at the Johns Hopkins Brady Urological Institute. Dr. Billups then went on to receive fellowship training in sexual medicine, male infertility, and vascular biology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville where he was honored as an American Foundation for Urologic Disease and Robert Woods Johnson Foundation scholar.
Dr. Billups area of clinical and research expertise involves the use of erectile dysfunction and testosterone deficiency as gender specific markers for early detection and prevention of chronic medical conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease and hypertension. He also has expertise in penile prosthetic surgery for those men who do not respond to medical management. Dr. Billups is actively involved in creating a multi-disciplinary Mens Health Program that addresses both traditional medical therapies and the social determinants of health to promote prevention and early stage management of the chronic medical diseases which are known to be major contributors to premature death and suffering among men.
