Biography
Dr. Steven Bonawitz specializes in general plastic, reconstructive surgery and microvascular surgery, including free flap breast reconstruction after breast cancer, breast reduction and cosmetic surgery of the breast. His clinical interests also include craniomaxillofacial surgery, head and neck reconstruction after cancer, and general cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Bonawitz is researching robotic-assisted head and neck reconstruction, or transoral robotic-assisted robotic surgery (TORS), which uses a robotic surgical system to remove mouth and throat tumors through the mouth.
He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, where he is serving on numerous committees, including Government Affairs, Health Policy, Leadership Development, and the Council on States Affairs, and the American Association of Plastic Surgeons.
