Bio

Biography
Kaushik Mandal, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospitals Heart and Vascular Institute. He has been the Chief Resident of Cardiac Surgery, as well as the Chief Resident of Thoracic Surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. In addition to his time at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Dr. Mandal completed residencies at Guys & St Thomas, St Marys and St. Georges Hospitals in London, UK and All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India. Dr. Mandal received the deans scholarship from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and an honorary fellowship from the European Society of Cardiology for his outstanding clinical research. He has been a member and a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburg and received the Professor V. Ramalingaswami Best Intern Award at the All India Institute of Medial Sciences in New Delhi, India. Kaushik Mandal, M.D., specializes in cardiac surgery especially minimally invasive and robotic cardiac surgery, including mitral valve repairs, tricuspid valve repairs, ASD closures, maze procedures for atrial fibrillation, Aortic valve and aneurysm repairs, off pump and coneventional coronary artery bypass, heart failure surgery, heart transplant, valvular heart disease, and many other cardiac conditions. His current research focus is in the field of Robotics and Advanced imaging in cardiac surgery. He has been published in Circulation, the publication of the American Heart Association; The Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, and many other industry journals and is frequently invited speaker to various scientific meetings.
