Johns Hopkins inaugural fellow in pediatric dermatology, she completed her training in June 2008 and is now an assistant professor.
Puttgen is a member of the editorial board of the DermAtlas web site conceived and developed by her mentor, Bernard A. Cohen, M.D. She and Cohen are currently developing an internet-based teledermatology tool so that pediatricians and primary care providers can obtain consultations for patients with dermatologic conditions that require specialist care.
She is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, an active member of the Society for Pediatric Dermatology and the Womens Dermatologic Society. She enjoys community outreach and education efforts focused on bringing information about pediatric dermatology to the community, both for parents and children, and developed a school education curriculum on sun protection while at Emory.
