Bio
Biography
Dr. Boland is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and has sub-specialty training in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma. He is available for consultations regarding the evaluation of both glaucoma and cataract. He sees patients at the Green Spring Station and Bel Air locations of the Wilmer Eye Institute.

Dr. Boland received a B.S. with distinction in electrical and computer engineering and earned his MD and PhD from the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University, respectively. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Iowa, annually ranked as one of the top training programs in the country. He received his glaucoma training at the Wilmer Eye Institute of Johns Hopkins University. His current research efforts include medical informatics in ophthalmology and computer-assisted diagnosis.
